Syllabus @ Yale is organized into different repositories, with further categorization by school and syllabus document type. This organization, in addition to other robust search fields, allows the Yale community to find syllabi.

How is Syllabus @ Yale Organized?
Syllabus @ Yale is comprised of two repositories:
- Syllabus Repository which contains syllabi that are visible and available for the Yale community to find
- Syllabus Repository - Hidden which contains syllabi that the faculty member or school has requested not be visible to the broader community
Inside each repository, syllabi are organized by school code. And inside each school, there are 3 document types:
- Syllabus Artifact - a Canvas page that was labeled and used as the syllabus
- Syllabus File - the syllabus file of the course
- Syllabus Tool - the Canvas Syllabus tool page, if used

Finding Syllabi in a Specific School
- In the “Document Types” section, click to select one of the school-specific document types.
- To select more than one document type, hold Shift while clicking.
- Below the document types section, narrow your search by filling out other course criteria from the “Keywords” fields. We recommend you use the following fields to narrow your search:
- Course Subject
- Course Number(s)
- Section Number(s)
- Academic Term
- When ready, click the “Search” button at the bottom.
- Results meeting your search criteria will appear on the right. Select a document to view the file in the preview pane.
Searching the Whole Syllabus Repository
- In the “Document Types” section, click the “Syllabus Repository” option at the top to select all document types to search.
- Below the document types section, narrow your search by filling out other course criteria from the “Keywords” fields. We recommend you use the following fields to narrow your search:
- Course Subject
- Course Number(s)
- Section Number(s)
- Academic Term
- When ready, click the “Search” button at the bottom.
- Results meeting your search criteria will appear on the right. Select a document to view the file in the preview pane.
